MoleCheck.info

About

The purpose of this site is to help you identify skin cancer which you might otherwise have missed. The purpose is not to allow you to rule out skin cancer as this can be very difficult even for a dermatologist. If you are unsure about a skin lesion, or if a lesion is new or changing it is essential to see a dermatologist.

Molecheck.info was created by Dr Magnus Lynch a London, UK based Consultant Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.

The inspiration for MoleCheck.info came from a common question Dr Lynch received from his patients: "I am checking my skin regularly, but how do I know what to look for?" This led to the creation of this website as a resource to empower patients with the knowledge to better recognize potentially suspicious skin lesions.

Initially created for Dr Lynch's own patients, MoleCheck.info unexpectedly gained global recognition after being featured on the popular startup business news website, Hacker News. Since then, it has been used by thousands of patients worldwide, helping them learn how to recognize skin cancer and promoting earlier detection.

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the world, yet with early detection, it is often highly treatable. In most cases, it can be easily recognised, yet many people have little idea of what to look for. The purpose of this site is to equip you with the knowledge to recognise skin cancer earlier.
